The spatial layout for Clute Park was generated through careful site analysis and thoughtful input gathered at the community design charrette, with an eye toward strategic budget allocation. Sinuous landscape forms pick up local geologic formations, while the buildings translate simple farm structures into modern forms. The major hub of activity and community gathering is located in the center of the park, freeing up the east side for a more open and ecologically rich experience, and locating sport related programs to the west. Plantings and berms delineate smaller spaces and buffer the space from the road, while preserving views. Existing trees are retained and new allees line the north / south paths that both facilitate connection to the water and serve as access roads for Cargill’s infrastructure.
